BumpTop 3D Desktop

Now comes a project called Bumptop that looks not to replace the desktop metaphor, but to improve it by making it more like a real desk top. The project adds 3-D rendering, physics modeling, and pen input to the traditional desktop metaphor. Now icons can be easily stacked, fanned out, or laid out in a grid. Icons can be turned sideways to stick out of a stack. They can be tossed into an unorganized pile. They can even be wadded up just like real pieces of paper. It's just amazing to see.
